A downloadable extension

WHAT IS IT?

Car Engine (https://engine.mildlyconcerning.xyz) is a Chrome extension that is a parody of modern search engines not intended for actual day-to-day use. Instead, this is simply for fun. Add this to a friend's computer while they're not looking and really, really confuse them.

Whenever you open a new tab, Engestension (ENGinE exTENSION) redirects you to Car Engine, and every time you make a search in the address bar, it performs that search in Car Engine, effectively changing your default search engine to Car Engine.

WHY DOES IT BOTH CHANGE THE ADDRESS BAR ENGINE AND THE NEW TAB PAGE?

Because that's the whole point. If it DIDN'T do both, it wouldn't really be a search engine. It's not so much a bundle of two unrelated functions as much as it is two very much so related features that come together to serve a single purpose. It would just be a new tab page or really weird address bar modifier, and that destroys the whole purpose of Engestension. Your friends will not be pranked by Car Engine if they can just very easily not use it.

FEATURES:

• Filters results by irrelevance by default.

• Automatically appends "egg bennedict recipe" to the end of all of your searches, effectively nuking anything you could have possibly been looking for from the search results.

• The search filters "robot version" & "contains 'cheese man' verbatim" narrow your search results to exclusively show sites that include the phrases "robot version" and "cheese man", respectively.

• Slick user interface with a brown accent colour.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The extension detects every time the user opens a new tab or searches something in the address bar and simply redirects the user to Car Engine. It doesn't actually replace or change any of your browser settings (because I couldn't figure out how to do that).
